Projects that are larger in either scale or budget, or that are in the public or commercial realm, often need a greater input at the design stage. The need to satisfy planning requirements, specify detailed bespoke elements or undertake community consultation are just some of the factors that might be involved. Apt studios have the experience and capability to work on projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team and, while early involvement is advantageous, we can bring value at any stage of a project.

Apt works for commercial clients both directly, as the first point of contact on a project, as well as indirectly, in situations where other professionals, such as architects, landscape architects and developers, are the lead consultant on a project. We are able to undertake the professional services required at each of the RIBA stages A-L and can prepare plans and supporting imagery in whatever format is required, whether that is hand-drawn, autoCAD or Sketch Up.

A summary of the services Apt Studios offers is as follows:- Site surveys – Tree surveys – on site consultations – Outline design schemes – Detailed design proposals – Planting schemes – Tender documentation (Construction drawings, Schedules of Work & Performance specifications) – Project management – Plant maintenance schedules

Previous projects  Apt Studios have worked on include the NHS, housing developers and public venues.

New Housing development Working with the architects and developer we recently completed landscape design proposals for a new housing development in Newark. This involved the preparation of plans and documents to satisfy the LPAs planning conditions, including road detailing, drainage, boundary treatment and planting.

Garden for a wedding venue Apt studios recently designed and oversaw the construction and planting of the garden at the new wedding venue at Doddington Hall, near Lincoln.  The large, enclosed garden is viewed through a long glass wall and is used by wedding guests. The planting was designed in three parts with different styles to provide a range of photographic opportunities.
